Unleash Your Link’s Inner Genius

Bridge the "Purchasing Gap" with Genius Links.

Bridge the “Purchasing Gap” with Genius Links.

As you already know, a GeoRiot link helps your global audience buy, while helping you earn commissions from around the world. Great right?

But what about those products that exist in multiple ecosystems like iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play?

Wouldn’t it be great if you could create a single, fully customizable link that intelligently sends each user to the appropriate local storefront for their device? What if you could even define scenarios where a click might go to YouTube instead (say, for clicks from Windows Phone)?

Well, we listened to your feedback, and are incredibly excited to announce our newest innovative services that do just that with our suite of Genius Link™ services*.

One Problem.
After keeping a close eye on the new metrics we rolled out earlier this year it’s become painfully obvious that some types of clicks just don’t result in sales. As more devices come online every day, and global stores create more storefronts around the world, the “Purchasing Gap” between the content you are promoting and the customers who want to purchase, is rapidly expanding.

A Solution.
Our Genius Link services can push forward in our mission to bridge this void — to better connect paying customers with the products they want to buy. The Genius Link services can build links from the ground up to ensure that your customers are getting the very best buying experience possible, and that you are converting as many of your clicks as possible.

Previously, you needed to create a unique link to each product in each of the separate storefronts, and then GeoRiot would take care of the translation between countries. This meant that if you had an app in both iTunes and Amazon, you needed a separate link for each store, even if it was the same app.

Previously, one product across stores, needed multiple links.

One Link, Unlimited Potential.
The Genius Link services eliminate this need. Our Genius Link services can build a single link that can be routed differently based on the user’s location, device, operating system and even the date of the click. You no longer have to create multiple links for a single product available in different stores! By eliminating purchasing hurdles (like no iTunes store on Kindles and no Android store for iOS devices) you can improve your conversions, which ultimately leads to more money in your pocket. Everyone wins!

One link that can be customized to resolve differently based on Date, OS, Device Type, or Country.

Say Hello to “geni.us”
With this new release, we say goodbye to our previous domain, georiot.co, and are proud to introduce a brand new domain, “geni.us”. Don’t worry, all of your previous georiot.co links will still be fully supported. Moving forward, however, all new links will be created using the geni.us domain. For example: http://geni.us/abc123

Dynamic Destinations.
What if a product isn’t available for a specific device or storefront, or you want it to resolve differently based on location, device, or specific date? No problem! Continue to ensure a good user experience by sending these customers to the next best option, whether that be YouTube, Spotify, GoodReads, etc. (We have a whitelist of allowed external domains listed below, let us know if you have suggestions for additional destinations).

To get started, add a new iTunes or Amazon product URL to the Link Creator tool, then click on the “Target” icon. Or click to edit any of your existing links to add rules and expand their functionality.

Testing Your Links.
In addition, as any good marketer knows, it’s always important to test your links. However, not everyone is lucky enough to be a regular globetrotter with a full array of devices to test with, so we also added new testing parameters that let you test the full functionality of your Genius Links. These parameters can be added to the end of the link, and allow you to test your link for any combination of scenarios. You can find a table of testing parameters and their descriptions below. As always, please let us know if you are having problems with your testing.

Good luck to you in your continued conquest of the digital marketing world, and please let us know what we can do to help.
